Rectifying Plan Images

  1. Locate the ArcMap icon on your desktop ArcMap logo.PNGand double click it.
  2. Steps 2 and 3
    Once the application is open, you will see a “Start Up” box. Click the button that says “Add Base Layers”.





  3. Using the magnifying glass “Zoom In” feature on the tool bar, zoom into the area that you want to insert a rectified plan sheet. Turn on the aerial photograph by selecting the “Add Layers” tool on the tool bar; click on the “+” next to “Air Photos”; place a check in the box next to the “2006 Color 6in Orthophoto”; then click the “Add Selected Layers” button; then click “Close."

    Create a bookmark so you can go back to this location quickly during this process. Do this by clicking the down arrow near “Bookmarks” on the top right hand side of the menu bar. Then click “Create”. Name the bookmark by typing in a file name and click “OK”.
